Top 10 of 2010

I can easily say, that 2010 was the best year of my life thus far. Over the 365 days of the year I set foot on 5 continents, visited 13 countries, flew 60,000 miles, saw 3 of the 7 world wonders, lived down under for two months, made some incredible friends, and partied hard. It was an amazing year of travel, adventures, friendships and drinking.

So, here are my top 10 moments of 2010 (in order of occurrence)

1. Joining in on a completely spontaneous singing of "O Canada" with thousands of strangers on Granville street during the olympics in Vancouver.

2. Sidney Crosby's OT winner to win the gold medal in men's olympic hockey.

3. Coming though the rocks at Petra and getting my first glimpse of the treasury.

4. Drunkenly singing along to "I love rock and roll" with my fellow secondees at 11am while on a wine tour bus in the Swan Valley, Western Australia.

5. Getting annihilated and dancing our asses off until 3am at a variety of Perth clubs (this happened numerous times, but i don't remember which time was my favourite)

6. Climbing 50 steep steps to the top of a tower on the great wall of China, and looking out at the view, as the wind cooled me off.

7. Swimming with sea turtles off the Gili Islands in Lombok, Indonesia on my 24th birthday.

8. Drinking Thai buckets and eating banana pancakes on the beach in Ko Phi Phi, Thailand

9. Spending the day in Chiang Mai, Thailand, taking care of Mehkapah the elephant; a 38 year old rescued from the logging industry in Burma.

10. Ringing in the new year in NYC with Jeff and Emma.

I realize that 2011 is not likely to be as spectacular as 2010. But, if it's even half as good..... then I'm in!!!

Cheers,

Siobhan
